DELTA was founded in 1966. Our first activity was the design and erection of electrical, industrial refrigeration, and air conditioning systems. Today we are still very active in the industrial refrigeration field where we have increased our coverage with local manufacturing of various components. DELTA has installed over 32,000 tons of refrigeration for various applications.
Since 1978, after 3 years of design, research and testing, we begun the manufacture of large vertical seawater pumps. The initial driver for the development of our water pumps was the large development of shrimp farms in Ecuador. Over the years, our pumps applications extended to agricultural, municipal, and drainage. Today, DELTA has over 1,000 pumps operating in nine countries across three continents.
DELTA's continuous commitment to quality and performance has led its water pumps to achieve the highest efficiency and product functionality you can buy. Our research and development team is constantly optimizing the hydraulic and mechanical design of our pumps with the latest tools for computer simulated flows and stress analysis. This fact gives us an advantage over our competition, which uses decades old pump designs developed when these tools where not available. The design process is complemented with a state of the art pump-testing laboratory that exceeds all the requirements of the Hydraulic Institute.
Product innovation and improvement is part of DELTA's culture as well as flexibility to satisfy our customer's specific demands. This flexibility includes special designs to meet particular operating requirements and the ability to manufacture using special materials like stainless steels, aluminum, titanium, and others.
A total of 52 highly qualified workers and 16 engineers and administrative staff work at our 4,500 m2 manufacturing facility and 400 m2 administrative office. Our manufacturing facility includes computerized plasma steel cutting, CNC machining, and automated welding. DELTA products combine years of experience in design and manufacture with the latest CAD/CAM systems.
