PUMP TESTING LABORATORY

DELTA's pump testing laboratory and its instrumentation matches or exceeds the requirements of the American National Standard for Vertical Pump Tests.

  • Maximum pump diameter capacity: 400 mm (16 inches).
  • Tank water volume: 35 m3 (9250 gallons).
  • Tank depth: 2.5 meters (8.2 feet).
  • Flow measurement: Differential pressure venturi type flow meter.
  • Differential pressure measurement: Electronic differential pressure sensor.
  • Head measurement: Electronic pressure sensor.
  • Power transmission: The pumps tested are directly coupled to vertical hollow shaft electric motors.
  • Torque and speed measurement: Torque and speed sensor are directly mounted on the pumps shaft for accurate power absorbed by the bowl.
  • Speed control: Variable frequency drive, 0-100% of nominal speed of the electric motor used.
  • Head regulation: Butterfly valve in discharge line.
  • Cavitation: Impingent cavitation can be accurately predicted by varying the water level in the test tank by the use of a parallel water transfer tank.
