Research
and development is the core of DELTA's culture. Our engineering
team is always eager to develop new world-class products. Among
the projects currently under development are:
Portable
pumps. As a compliment of our highly praised axial and
mixed flow pump line, DELTA is currently developing its portable
pump line. The new pumps will be Francis, axial, or mixed flow and
will be driven by hydraulic motors or tractor PTO. Details
en this new lines of pumps will be posted soon.
Alternative energy turbines. DELTA is currently conducting
research on alternative sources of energy for various applications.
The scope of the research includes wind and hydro turbines.
- Wind turbines. The wind turbines under development
have three major applications: electricity generation in
rural areas, water pumping, and aquaculture pond aeration and
recirculation.
- Hydro turbines. The hydro turbines under study
are in the micro hydropower range (<2000 kW). The turbine
types beign developed are pelton, crossflow, francis, and axial
flow. The turbines are intended to provide clean and cost
effective electrical power in rural areas.
Desalinization plants. DELTA has developed a line
of vapor-compression cycle desalinization plants with fresh water
capacities ranging from 10 to 500 m3/day per unit.
The energy consumption ranges from 12 to 14 kWh/m3 of fresh water
produced. The vapor-compression process was chosen to utilize
DELTA's long experience in the design and manufacture of centrifugal
blowers and heat transfer equipment.
